Anna returns home after spending time in a psychiatric facility following her mother's tragic death and discovers that her mother's former nurse, Rachel, has moved into their house and become engaged to her father. Alex and Anna decide to look for evidences to prove that Rachel is the murderer and Anna discovers the truth about the fire in the boat house. The Uninvited 1944 The Uninvited: A brother and sister move into an old seaside house they find abandoned for many years on the English coast. Anna meets her beloved sister, Alex, swimming in the sea. The cinematography is impressive, and setting is remarkable too, as the entire film unfolds in the confines of a beautiful, large New England home that sits perched on the side of the rocky ocean cliffs, a location that gives plenty of space for creepy action to unfold. As they are compelled to solve it, the supernatural activity at the house increases to a frightening level.
The cinematographer, Dan Landin, did an excellent job. Sure, some of the obvious plot points in the trailer are there, but overall, the movie was really quite good. If you think you've endured everything then, just wait until you witness the finale, which is without exaggerating the most moronic ending I've ever seen in my life. As time moves on, Anna is haunted by ghosts and she believes that Rachel killed her mother. Overall, I recommend it, if not for the content, then only for Emily Browning's performance.
Anna meets her beloved sister, Alex, swimming in the sea. Marvel as buff beauty Bobbie Carey performs an unenthusiastic aerobics routine!! The idea of a mutating cat barfing up a killer creature resembling a hybrid between a bat and a bowl of rotting placenta is already quite crackpot, but even more inconceivable is how literally everything in this film happens so impulsively and indifferent, like they are the most common events to occur in life! But let me tell you, it was still a good experience at the theaters. Anna finds that her mother's former nurse, Rachel Summers, is her stepmother now. Ten months later, Anna still cannot remember what had happened on the night her mother died. Ten months later, Anna still cannot remember what had happened on the night her mother died. The reasons for the haunting and how they relate to the daughter whom the brother is falling in love with, prove to be a complex mystery. I enjoyed the movie, but I think they could've of done more with the details regarding the mother's last moments, more family insights or details about Anna's suicidal attempts and overcoming them so to speak.
First off, the screen writing is wonderful here. While happy to be back with her older sister, Alex Arielle Kebbel , she is not so happy with her father's David Strathairn new girlfriend, Rachael Elizabeth Banks , a nurse who took care of her mother up until the accident, and is now living in her house. Silberling, however, discharges her telling that she has resolved her issues. Ten months later, Anna still cannot remember what had happened on the night her mother died. This is where many fans of the original get upset and get their panties in a bunch.
The sound was also good thanks to the Sound Department. Anna meets her beloved sister, Alex, swimming in the sea. So if you're wanting to see a meaningful movie of vengeance and reality, watch this one. It may have been stupid to do so and it did spoil the movie.
Her father and successful writer, Steven, brings her back home in an isolated mansion nearby the coast. There were actually less plot holes in this film than the original. It may have been stupid to do so and it did spoil the movie. I won't beat around the bush: I'm not a horror fanatic, but this one, I enjoyed from the beginning until the very end and I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. One thing to understand was that this movie was completely westernized. A genetic laboratory looses control of a house-cat infected with a malignant genetically-engineered virus. The surroundings are beautiful and the movie is very well shot.
It may have a few cliche jumps and scares, but in the end it was really worth seeing. Sometimes nothing happens for twenty minutes straight and then suddenly three or four people die in less than two minutes. Silberling, however, discharges her telling that she has resolved her issues. I was completely caught off-guard. Also heard are unexplained sounds during the night. As time moves on, Anna is haunted by ghosts and she believes that Rachel killed her mother.
Sure, similar plot twists have come about before - but it was really unexpected- and the funny thing is, after thinking about it, there are clues that are dropped along the way. Also, I'd like to mention the cast here. And wonder in incredulity at how Oscar winner George Kennedy wound up appearing in such tacky crud. The supernatural lacing in the story is well done too, combining ghosts and spirits with real-life danger that threatens our two leading ladies. In hindsight, not every single thing made sense but I still find this a very entertaining, intriguing movie and I recommend it for fans of the genre.
